Black Flag has a new man on vocals.
According to "Rolling Stone," the hardcore vets have picked Mike Vallely to be their latest frontman. Vallely briefly sang with the band in 2003, and served as their manager during last year's comeback. He was also the one who took the stage during one of Black Flag's November shows in Australia to tell then-frontman Ron Reyes that his time with the band was over.
Vallely says Reyes had become "disgruntled" and "combative" during the trek, and couldn't see eye-to-eye with Black Flag's leader and only consistent member, Greg Ginn. He says the difference in their ideas about the band's future led to dysfunction and caused the band to "fall short" in 2013.
The new-look Black Flag is already working on material for a follow-up to last year's What The..., which the band admits was a "sub par" effort. They're also planning an "extensive" tour expected to start in May.
